Responsible Gaming Guide

Play should stay fun, affordable and legal where you live. Here are the tools, warning signs and support options every player should know.

Last updated: 21 September 2026

Five rules worth keeping

  • 18+ only. No one under 18 should gamble, and accounts must never be shared with minors.
  • Know the rules where you live. India restricts real-money online games through a 2025 national law and several state laws; an offshore licence does not override them.
  • Fixed budget. Decide what you can afford to spend before you start, and treat it as spent.
  • Stop after a loss. Chasing losses is the most common way small losses become serious ones.
  • Entertainment, not earnings. No strategy, signal or pattern turns casino games into income.

Use limits, not willpower

It is easier to stick to a decision made in advance. Set your limits before you log in – Pin-Up offers deposit limits and self-exclusion, and support can add further restrictions.

ToolWhat it doesWhen to use it
Deposit limitCaps how much you can add per day, week or monthAlways – set it when you open the account
Loss limitA personal stop point for each sessionBefore every session, especially fast games
Session timerA phone alarm or reminder to take a breakCrash games, live betting, long slot sessions
Cooling-offA short break during which you cannot playAfter a bad run or when you feel frustrated
Self-exclusionBlocks access for a longer, fixed periodWhen limits are no longer enough

When play stops being fun

Gambling harm tends to build up gradually. These are common signs that it is time to pause:

  • You keep going past the budget or time you set
  • You raise your bets after losing, hoping to win it back
  • You have borrowed, used a credit line or delayed bills to deposit
  • You play in secret or feel guilty afterwards
  • You gamble to escape stress, boredom or worry
  • Sleep, work or family time is suffering

A quick self-check

There is no score here – but a single honest yes is reason enough to slow down.

  1. Have I spent more on gambling this month than I meant to?
  2. Have I gone back another day to win back money I lost?
  3. Has anyone close to me said my gambling worries them?
  4. Have I felt I should cut down but not managed to?

Blocking and self-exclusion

If limits are not enough, ask Pin-Up support to self-exclude you for a fixed period and do not open accounts elsewhere in the meantime. Device-level blocking software and your bank's controls on gambling payments, where offered, add another layer.

Delete saved passwords and uninstall casino apps during a break – fewer shortcuts mean fewer impulsive sessions.

Keeping minors safe

Never let anyone under 18 use your account or payment details. Use parental controls on shared phones and computers, and log out after every session.

Where to get help

Talking helps. Start with someone you trust, or with your doctor or a counsellor. Gambling Therapy offers free, confidential support online, including live chat, and accepts people from India.
